The IPI is the federal government’s central point of contact for all questions concerning patents, trade marks, indications of source, design protection and copyright. It examines, grants and administers industrial property rights (patents, trade marks and designs) and, together with other authorities, associations and companies, enforces the indication of source ‘Switzerland’ in Switzerland and abroad. Additionally, the IPI offers a range of services that can also be utilised by companies working on sustainable innovations.
